Your firewall has more than one lifecycle.

Why a supported appliance does not automatically mean supported firmware.

Track the hardware and the operating system.

A firewall appliance and its firmware can have separate support schedules. An appliance may still be eligible for service while the installed software branch has reached its published deadline. Keep both model and firmware release in your inventory.

Use a supported upgrade path.

Before scheduling a change, check the vendor’s upgrade guidance for intermediate versions, platform compatibility and feature changes. Validate high-availability behaviour, VPN peers, routing, management access and integrations in a controlled test.

Keep the recovery plan close.

Record the existing configuration, preserve a tested backup, confirm console access and define the conditions that trigger a rollback. Arrange a change window with the teams that own dependent services.

What this tracker covers.

The FortiOS, PAN-OS and IOS XE pages track software release timelines from endoflife.date. They are not a complete inventory of hardware model end-of-sale or last-service dates. Follow the vendor lifecycle pages to confirm appliance-specific announcements.
